The Tutoring and Academic Success Center offered two types of tutoring sessions, walk-in tutoring and appointment-based weekly tutoring, Alma did both types of tutoring as well as Supplemental Instruction and Structured Learning Assistance when those programs began.
-10-101Maxine Goodman-Levin College of Urban Affairs: Interactive Media Lab Technician (November 2005- October 2007)
As an Interactive Media Lab Technician, Alma shot, edited and published video of class lectures and college forum events. She also provided comprehensive on-ground tech support for conferences and events within the college. Alma expanded the multi-media interactivity of the college website and created CD-ROMs for online classes.
Later in her time in that position, Alma authored and distributed DVD copies of the college television series Urban Issues, some of which she was on the production team for (through her Multi-Source Video Production course).
-10-101After taking a course in Multi-Source Live Video Production, Alma was qualified to join the crew of students who shot the University Men’s and Women’s Basketball games. During her time on staff, she regularly ran cables and set up cameras and tripods on the arena platforms before and after games. In addition, she operated cameras during most games both in the seating areas and immediately court side (on one occasion, Alma was even stepped on by a fast-moving J’Nathan Bullock) and she ran CG, updating scores for several games.
-10-101After taking a course on multi-source video production, students in the Digital Video Communication program at Cleveland State University can volunteer as Production Assistants for live productions that the faculty and staff are involved with.
This one-day production took place in the Masonic Auditorium in Cleveland, it was a twelve-camera set up with several media trucks digitizing the output for a live performance within Second Life. The Ikegami cameras had long-throw zooms and crank focuses. Quite honestly, it was the most professional broadcast camera Alma have ever used.

The Laramie Project documents the lives and reactions of a Wyoming community as they are immersed in the aftermath of the brutal murder of Matthew Sheppard. It contains the moving interviews by witnesses, family and friends and transcripts of court proceedings.
A scene in the play portrays the jarring descent of the national media on to the quite town of Laramie, many productions send all cast members armed with news paraphernalia storming through the audience. This, in addition to a greater integration of digital media in to the play, necessitated a cross-department outreach in Cleveland State University’s production. Alma was involved in a production of this play in high school as a member of house crew, and when she heard that my university was going to be producing it, she was compelled to be even more involved. When Alma heard of the need for a liaison between the Theater Arts department and the School of Communication, she worked with the faculty involved to develop an Independent Study course.
-10-101Game Day Staff, Luxury Seating: Prep Crew (July 2004-August 2005)
During the 2004 and 2005 baseball seasons, Alma inspected the Luxury Seating fan areas and suites for maintenance, custodial, and supply issues before the start of each home game. She notified various departments of any action required in suites and restocked complimentary newspapers and magazines. In the 2005 season, Alma delivered complimentary promotional items to the suites during game time.
