DaVinci Resolve 12 Color Grading

Alma utilized online tutorials for DaVinci Resolve and taught herself the basics of color grading. The following video was underexposed and shot in the film dynamic range. Alma balanced the colors using the scopes within Resolve, and then added some selective saturation with the curve tools.

This grading allowed fine details of the tea-steeping process to become visible (see the rippling color on the top of the water).

Equipment Loan Program Website Updates

Alma and a colleague reviewed and updated the online list of items available through Loyola’s Equipment Loan Program. Alma spearheaded the visual changes, avoiding the square pictures previously used on the website and in management proposed redesigns. The final design features equipment photos in an extreme landscape aspect to facilitate a more equal visual presence for all types of equipment items.

In tandem with this visual shift, all of the content was updated and reorganized, the new organization being heavily based on the Equipment Loan Binder which was finalized two months previous. This reorganization reduced the number of menu items from 24 to 19 future-proof categories.

The website is based on the T4 content management system.

Denny Laine: Nights in White Satin

A wonderful impromptu performance of Nights in White Satin, by Denny Laine.

Through Alma’s work with Chad and Jeremy, she’s been fortunate to know other artists from the 1960s. In March 2015, she joined several dates of the British Invasion Tour, which included the artists: Terry Sylvester, Mike Pender, Chad and Jeremy, Billy J Kramer, Denny Laine and Peter Asher.

This video was shot on Alma’s Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera with a 25mm F/1.4 TV lens, with multi-source audio, and edited in Adobe Premiere Pro CS6 with audio mastering in Adobe Audition.

Jeremy Clyde, Rick Jones, Valerie Neal: So Right Tonight

Jeremy Clyde on vacation in the US after the May 2015 tour. Last September, Rick Jones and Valerie Neal performed with Jeremy to launch his first solo album, The Bottom Drawer Sessions, No 1 (linked are details on my work on the album). This song is another from the bottom drawer.

This video was shot on my Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera with a 7.5mm F/3.5 fisheye lens and edited in Adobe Premiere Pro CS6. Audio was recorded on a Tascam handheld recorder (on the table) and synced with video footage during post production.

Jeremy Clyde: Willow Weep for Me

The Chad and Jeremy tour scheduled in May 2015 was cut short by an emergency which left Chad unable to travel. Jeremy sang four songs on his own at the Cannery in North Las Vegas.

Chad has since had a successful knee replacement and we are all very happy for that.

This video was shot on my Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera with a 7.5mm F/3.5 fisheye lens and edited in Adobe Premiere Pro CS6 with effects created in Adobe After Effects.

Vlad and Jeremy Album Joke Poster

Vlad & Jeremy Album PosterAfter working with Rick Jones and Valerie Neale, friends of Chad and Jeremy’s, we began to joke about the (fictional) older, darker music group “Vlad and Jeremy”. Inspired by the album art Rick created, I developed a publicity poster for the album’s resurrection, complete with tracks spun-off from Chad and Jeremy hits. The poster was posted on Chad and Jeremy social media channels in time for Halloween 2014
